There are many uses for a good lamp.

FOR ONE THING, a lamp can be used to keep the flame to relight utility fires at will when matches or lighters are not available.

SINCE THEY RELATE to the fire that they were lit from, lamps can be lit from important fires. Council fires if you will, and the message of that council can be carried to many people and places. New lamps can be lit, and therefore the flame from the origional fire is kept going.
